Vice Chancellor of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), Professor John Ofosu-Anim, has underscored the importance of holistic learning in university education, urging students to embark on a journey of self-discovery beyond classroom lectures.
Addressing 1,042 fresh students at the Tema Campus matriculation ceremony, Prof Ofosu-Anim emphasized that university education goes beyond acquiring grades, encouraging students to explore personal development and intellectual growth.
The matriculation ceremony marked the official entry of the students into the academic life of the University. Prof. Ofosu-Anim urged them to make the most of the diverse academic programs and resources available to them to enhance their skills and become well-rounded graduates.
The students admitted to pursue various undergraduate programs across the Tema and Akuapem campuses were reminded of the significance of abiding by the institution’s rules and values to acquire knowledge for their overall growth and development.
Programs offered at the Akuapem Campus include BSc. International Development, BSc. Environmental and Natural Resources, and B.Ed. Social Studies, while the Tema Campus offers programs such as BSc. Human Resource and Management, BSc. Marketing Management, and BSc. Banking and Finance.
The emphasis on holistic learning reflects the Presbyterian University’s commitment to nurturing students who are not only academically competent but also well-equipped for personal and professional success in diverse fields.
