The Ghana Police Service apprehended Newwel Gavu ago for allegedly vandalizing public property on Saturday August 31, 2024.
Sources from Joy News indicate that the suspect accused of damaging a monument and multiple signposts at the Kotoka International Airport Roundabout in Accra is set to be prosecuted on Monday, September 2.
The arrest came after alert citizens and Airport security personnel reported the incident to the authorities.
In a statement, the police confirmed, “The suspect is currently in custody and will be taken through the due process of the law.”
The police also praised the public and Airport security for their prompt response, saying, “We would like to commend members of the public and the Airport security for their vigilance, which led to the arrest of the suspect.”
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations proceed, with the police assuring the public that all required legal procedures will be observed to ensure justice is delivered.
