The Ghana Police Service has apprehended a man identified as Newwel Gavu for vandalizing the ‘Big Six’ monument and several signposts located at the Airport roundabout in Accra.
The arrest took place on August 31, 2024, following swift action by both the public and Airport security personnel.
Gavu is currently in police custody and is expected to face legal proceedings in accordance with the law. The police have assured the public that the suspect will be processed through the legal system promptly.
In a statement, the Ghana Police Service commended the vigilance of both members of the public and Airport security, whose quick response was instrumental in the suspect’s arrest. The police expressed their appreciation, noting that such collaboration is crucial in maintaining law and order.
