Following her false claim that her friend had been abducted, an 11-year-old girl was detained.

The young girl contacted police, reporting that her 14-year-old friend had been taken by “an armed male driving a white van” in Florida, USA.

At roughly 9.45 a.m. local time, she claimed to be following the van in a blue Jeep while sending the message.

According to ABC7, her false alert prompted a massive police search operation for the vehicle, involving the activation of numerous units and air backup.

The youngster texted updates for the next hour and a half, including a description of the male suspect and the fact that he was carrying a gun, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

However, when no suspect was located, police located the original location of the phone used to send the texts.

At 10:23 a.m., it led them to a house in Poppy Lane, Port Orange, where police approached her father, who said she was there with her family.

Upon leading police on a 90-minute spoof kidnapping case, an 11-year-old girl is placed in handcuffs.

The teenager was walking out to meet the deputies while clutching her cell phone, which was ringing, according to the police.

“Volusia Sheriff’s Dispatch was on the line when the call was answered, and deputies confirmed they were on the scene.”

According to reports, the youngster informed deputies that she got the idea to prank 911 from a YouTube challenge and carried it out because she “thought it would be funny.”

She can hear an officer instructing her to “stay calm” and “talk to your parents” on bodycam video of her arrest.

“We can open the window so you can speak with them,” someone said. You won’t experience anything. Do you comprehend that?”

Before her father says, “I’m telling you this right now, you’re going to take this as a lesson at 11 years old, that if you do something stupid in the future, you’re going to enjoy those cuffs,” she nods her head to indicate that she agrees.

I’m not going to do this again, the girl answers.

She is then given the chance to convert this into a learning experience, the officer said. Please understand that this is not something you should carry with you forever.
