A viral video has surfaced amidst the ongoing parliamentary inquiry into an alleged plot, featuring a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and several high-ranking police officers.
The alleged plot’s objective is purportedly the removal of the current Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akufo Dampare.
The 8-minute and 9-second video prominently showcases Superintendent George Asare, one of the implicated senior police officers. In the video, he presents various claims and justifications for the IGP’s departure, alongside Alhaji Bugri Naabu, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP.
Superintendent George Asare articulates a series of allegations, including the assertion that the IGP played a role in the NPP’s defeat in the Assin North by-election. Asare further draws a parallel between his demands and what could have occurred had Aseidu Nketia, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), encountered a similar situation within his party involving the IGP.
