Ghanaian actor Don Little has spoken out about the tragic accident involving his colleague LilWin, emphasizing that it was not intentional and should not lead to legal consequences.
Expressing disappointment in how LilWin’s management handled the incident’s communication, Don Little recognized the public and the bereaved family’s understandable anger.
He appealed to both parties for forgiveness and called for a peaceful resolution, underscoring that the accident was not deliberate.
“My brother did not intend for this accident to happen. So, on behalf of LilWin, I ask Ghanaians and the family of the 3-year-old boy who passed away to forgive us, despite the pain.
“The initial communication about the incident was mishandled, causing more distress. Therefore, we ask for forgiveness,” he stated in a video shared by One Ghana TV on YouTube.
Meanwhile, LilWin was detained by police on Monday, June 3, 2024, after leaving Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He has been granted bail of GH¢50,000, and the case has been adjourned to June 27, 2024.
Regarding the accident:
The tragic incident involving LilWin occurred on May 25, 2024, near Grace Baptist Church in Amakom, Kumasi. LilWin’s vehicle collided head-on with another, causing injuries to several passengers and the heartbreaking loss of a 3-year-old child.
All injured parties, including LilWin, were promptly taken to the Accident and Emergency Unit of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Despite his injuries, the actor displayed resilience by attending the premiere of his new movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” at the KNUST CCB Auditorium later that day.
In response to the tragedy, LilWin’s management team pledged their unwavering support to the grieving family during their time of mourning.
