The Ghana Football Association (GFA) came off today in Tamale, where its Election Congress appointed new executives.
The incumbent president, Kurt Okraku, went unopposed for the presidential seat.
Gifty Oware-Mensah is also set to be elected as an Executive Council Member representing Women’s football.
The election happened amid applications for an injunction on the Congress by disqualified presidential candidate George Afriyie, and King Faisal.
George Afriyie’s application for the interlocutory injunction was secured on Friday at the Accra High Court and will be moved by his lawyer on Thursday, October 12.
Mr Afriyie, who is former GFA Veep was disqualified from contesting the presidential elections after the Elections Committee found out that his nomination form did not meet the needed requirements.
Ahead of this, FIFAÂ appointed a strong delegation for the 2023 Elective Congress.
The FIFA Delegation is made up of Gelson Fernandes, Director, FIFA Member Associations Africa, Silmara Sousa, Development Program Coordinator, FIFA Member Associations Africa and Ahmed Harraz, Senior MA Governance Services Manager, FIFA MA Governance.
