A staunch Ghanaian football supporter is currently not happy with Black Stars star Mohammed Kudus.
According to him, Kudus now prefers to play for West Ham, instead of his country, Ghana.
He made the comment after the arrival of Kudus, who was in the company of an official of West Ham, during his arrival at Ghana’s training camp for the 2024 tournament.
The midfielder picked up a strain whiles on duty for his club side West Ham United and needed to take sometime off training
The West Ham official is currently monitoring his recovery, but the football fanatic says he fails to understand why Kudus had to come along with a West Ham official.
He registered his displeasure while communicating that he was not expecting any remarkable performance from the senior national team at the 2023 AFCON tournament due to failed attempts in previous years.
“Kudus Mohammed is our star player but he prefers to play for West Ham than Ghana. He came just three days ago and what pains me is that, when he was coming with staff of West Ham. Really, for what reason. Look at him, he is on the bench. So our team, I’m supporting them because I’m a Ghanaian. We are not expecting anything. If we are able to make it, halleluyah,” he said.
Kudus has been in the good books of West Ham due to his impressive skills, which have led to some victories. Ahead of the 2023 AFCON, fans of West Ham were adamant in letting go of Kudus for the tournament.
In the opening match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) over the weekend, Cape Verde secured a dramatic victory over Ghana with a late goal by substitute Gary Rodrigues.
The defeat leaves Ghana with a challenging task ahead, as they now look to bounce back against Egypt in their next match on January 18.
