Our leaders are no longer selling the nation to foreigners but themselves – KKD

Media personality Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, popularly known as ‘KKD,’ has voiced strong criticism of Ghana’s leadership, stating that the country’s leaders are no longer selling the nation to foreigners but to themselves.

He emphasized that while Ghana is rich in natural resources, it lacks competent leaders, resulting in many talented young Ghanaians being forced to take on menial jobs abroad.

KKD called for current leaders who have served well to step aside and make way for the younger and middle-aged generations.

He pointed out that the failure of leaders to train successors has led to prolonged tenures in office, likening them to selfish shepherds who consume their own sheep.

Speaking on the JoyNews AM show, KKD illustrated his point by saying, “I see a Ghana where the shepherd is so selfish that everyday, he goes out with the sheep, he sells some of the sheep quietly and does not let the owners know. The owners are the people of Ghana.”

“The shepherds are those elected and appointed to serve and lead and who they are selling us to is foreigners who are buying everything of ours for cheap, but now they have turned away from even selling to the foreigners so that some profit would come to the country. Whatever little there is in it, they are selling the nation to themselves,” he added.

He noted that the Nigerian president, in response to unrest in Kenya, is taking steps to abolish the office of the First Lady and reduce the size of the government.

Comparing Ghana to China, KKD highlighted the disparity, noting that while China, a much larger country, has only 20 ministers, Ghana has nearly 126 ministers, along with special assistants and advisors.

“And I ask myself, do we have a leader? No, we do not. Each one for himself, God for us all,” he concluded.
