Former President John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has responded to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s recent remarks about his potential impact on the country’s future if elected in the 2024 general elections.
In a statement on his X platform, Mahama retorted, “I won’t protect your ‘legacy’ of corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, a bankrupt economy, increased unemployment, and driving more of our people into poverty.”

Akufo-Addo, during a mini rally in Doboro, Greater Accra, had urged Ghanaians to reject Mahama in the upcoming elections, citing a lack of confidence in Mahama’s ability to lead the country forward.
Encouraging citizens to register for the Limited Voter registration exercise, Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of voting, stating, “Your vote is your power.”
He further endorsed Dr. Bamwua, expressing confidence in his ability to continue the progress made during his administration, saying, “I have worked with him for the past seven and a half years, and I know he can continue the good work.”
