The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is set to undergo a significant transformation with the introduction of a prestigious trophy in 2024.
The new trophy, generously donated by Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been presented to Primetime Limited, the organizers of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
This announcement was made by Nana Akua Aboagyewaa Mensa-Bonsu, the Managing Director of Primetime Limited, during the 2023 grand finale held in Accra.

“We would be remiss of us not to say thank you also to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, for his support of the programme, having received us on three different occasions, warmly welcoming us to Kumasi on the occasions that we’ve been there, and even donating a cup to the programme starting next year. So next year there would be a more prestigious cup to fight for,” she indicated.
The current personalized bronze trophy was introduced five years ago after St. Peter’s SHS secured their third victory, and, in accordance with the competition’s rules, retained possession of the cup.

In the past five years, St. Augustine’s College (2019) and Prempeh College (2021) have each claimed the trophy once.
NSMQ record holders, Presec Legon, have clinched the bronze-crafted trophy three times (2020, 2022, 2023) and are set to retain it after their victory over Opoku Ware School and Achimota School in the 2023 finals.
