The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayensu Ntim, expressed dismay over the party’s loss of members due to internal conflicts.
He emphasized the importance of reuniting with these individuals to prevent any surprises in the upcoming 2024 election.
Speaking to the media after the Ejisu by-election results were announced, Ntim stated, “Personally as chairman of the party, I’m not happy. We should be able to bring them back to the party’s fold so that come December 7 we won’t be surprised. We should be able to carry the Ejisu seat with ease as against what we are seeing and that is my next focus. We don’t expect Aduomi to make overtures to us. So as the chairman of the party, I’m going to do that myself,” he told JoyNews.
He highlighted the feasibility of persuading those who departed the party due to grievances to return.
Regarding the party’s strategy for resolving internal conflicts nationwide, he mentioned, “We have a reconciliation committee at every region and also at the national. So we will use this machinery bothering reconciliation and conflict resolution”.
The NPP emerged victorious in the Ejisu seat with 27,782 votes, with their closest competitor securing 21,534 votes.
