Ghanaian musician Akwaboah Jnr. has firmly denied claims that his pastor once advised him against marrying the mother of his child. During an interview on The Delay Show on June 8, 2024, the musician clarified the situation surrounding his relationship with his wife, Theresa, whom he married in May.

Akwaboah stressed that the rumors were unfounded and that he made his own decision regarding his partner. “At my age and with my experience, must someone force a lady on me?” he questioned, recounting their meeting. He explained that while Theresa is his pastor’s secretary, their relationship developed independently.

“He [the pastor] didn’t introduce her to me. She’s my pastor’s secretary, so whenever I want to see my pastor, I’ll go through her. And I noticed I liked her, I proposed to her, and we’re where we are,” Akwaboah shared.

He also refuted the idea that his pastor intervened in his romantic decisions. “So, the claims that our pastor forced her on me are untrue. He never asked me to quit my relationship with my baby mama,” he clarified. Akwaboah added that his wife is a midwife by profession.

Akwaboah, who is part of Prophet Amoako Atta’s Lord’s Parliament Chapel, shared that he separated from previous partners due to irreconcilable differences. “She was pregnant, we separated, and I decided to take care of my son,” he said, noting that his son is now ten years old. “A lot happened before we separated, but I wouldn’t go into it. I took my son when he was a year old.”

He also spoke about his responsibilities as a father, revealing that he has two children with two different women. “The second born is five years old; the child is in the UK with the mother, and I take care of that child as well,” Akwaboah explained.
