Overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed his appreciation to New Patriotic Party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi for his role and support for NAPO so far within the region.
He expressed his gratitude during the grand unveiling of the party’s running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as NAPO at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi on July 9, 2024.
“Thank Chairman Wontumi for me, Ashanti Regional chairman, for his support and role played in this NAPO journey” the Asante overlord said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia formally informed the National Officers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) about his selection of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, as his running mate for the upcoming 2024 general elections on July 1st, 20241.
This significant announcement paved the way for NAPO’s official unveiling as Bawumia’s running mate in Kumasi on July 9, 2024.
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) convened on Thursday, July 4, 2024, to deliberate on the nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as the running mate to the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia1.
This crucial meeting resulted in unanimous approval of NAPO’s candidacy, paving the way for his official unveiling as Bawumia’s running mate in Kumasi on July 9, 2024.
