Deep-throat sources close to The Independent Ghana have dismissed claims that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is currently outside the country due to health issues.
It has been alleged that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has flown over seas.
The claims have it that the reason for the trip to Germany is to enable the former Energy Minister have access to medical treatment.
Some citizens have shared their support for Dr Opoku Prempeh also known as Napo and wished him a speedy recovery in a post on the X platform.
“Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), running mate for NPP flys to Germany for medical treatment. Ghana is with you in our prayers,” a post on August 30 read.
Our sources engaged on August 30 indicated that Dr Opoku Prempeh as of Friday was in Techiman North as part of his tour ahead of the 2024 general elections.
“We are with him as we speak in Techiman North. Just left the Chief place… he’s about to address a mini rally,” our source revealed.
Some Ghanaians have suggested that Dr Opoku Prempeh may be ill due to the recent change in his physical appearance.
