NAPO celebrates 56th birthday with Kumasi pupils in grand style

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, who is the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region and Ghana’s Energy Minister, celebrated his 56th birthday in a memorable fashion with the basic pupils of the Kumasi Metropolis.

The event, which took place on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Jubilee Park, was filled with entertainment and joy, marking a special version of his birthday celebrations.

Dr. Napo, a potential running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 elections, turned 56 on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

The colourful program featured a variety of entertainment sessions, including music, dance, bouncy castle games, and the sharing of snacks, creating a festive atmosphere for the pupils.

The highlight of the event was when Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known for his vibrant personality, joined the pupils on the dance floor. He delighted everyone with his dance moves to the tune of the famous song “ASEDA,” composed and sung by King Baluta, making the celebration even more enjoyable.

In addition to the entertainment, Dr. Napo made a generous donation of learning materials and food items to the various basic schools in the Kumasi Metropolis. The items included exercise books, notebooks, packs of assorted soft drinks, and biscuits, among others. This gesture aimed to support the education and well-being of the pupils.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Manhyia South Constituency executives of the NPP, Nana Kwaku Duah, Chief of Kokoso, and friends of Dr. Napo. Their presence added to the significance of the celebration.

Speaking at the occasion, the Metro Director of Education, Mr. David Oppong, encouraged the students to be inspired by the impact and achievements of Dr. Napo. He urged them to work hard, especially in numeracy and literacy, and to emulate Dr. Napo’s exemplary life to attain similar success.

Mr. Oppong also called on parents to invest in their children’s education, emphasizing the importance of providing the necessary support and resources to help them excel in their studies.

The grand birthday celebration not only brought joy and excitement to the pupils but also highlighted former Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s dedication to the education and welfare of the youth in his constituency.
