My system will not permit me to conceive naturally – McBrown

Nana Ama McBrown, the Ghanaian superstar actress, has recently revealed in an interview that although she wants more children, but her body may not allow it due to some health complications.

McBrown, who had her first child at the age of 41 through an IVF procedure after many years of trying, said she may have to undergo the same process again if she wants to have more children.

During an interview with Berla Mundi on the Day Show, McBrown opened up about her difficult IVF journey, which she described as “painful”.

She expressed her desire to have more children naturally, but unfortunately, it’s not possible due to her health.

McBrown also addressed the issue of over-exposing her daughter on social media. She admitted that she has reduced the frequency of posting pictures of her daughter following concerns from her fans.

She explained that while some people express genuine concern, others accuse her of showing off.

The actress had always wanted to have a child since she was 23, and she went through a lot of struggles before finally having her first child.

She also revealed that she had to have one of her fallopian tubes removed surgically due to damage.

Despite the challenges, McBrown remains optimistic about the future and looks forward to the possibility of having more children.

She is grateful for her daughter and cherishes every moment with her.

What is an IVF procedure?

IVF (in vitro fertilization) is a type of fertility treatment where eggs are combined with sperm outside of your body in a lab. It’s a method used by people who need help achieving pregnancy. IVF involves many complex steps and is an effective form of assisted reproductive technology (ART).

Several days after fertilization, the fertilized egg (now called an embryo) is placed inside a uterus. Pregnancy occurs when this embryo implants itself into the uterine wall.

McBrown has faced several challenges with childbirth, including a previous miscarriage, a caesarean section, and struggles with fertility. She has been open about these difficulties and has used her platform to raise awareness about issues related to reproductive health.

On 15 July 2007, McBrown was enthroned as the “Nkosuohemaa” (or ceremonial queen-mother of development) of Assin-Basiako near Assin-Fosu in the Assin North District of the Central Region, Ghana. In 2016, she married her longtime boyfriend Maxwell Mawu Mensah. In February 2019 McBrown gave birth to a girl in Canada. Her daughter’s name is Maxin. McBrown has spoken publicly about her struggles with childbirth, including a cesarean section and issues with fertility.

McBrown often shares photos and videos of Maxin on her social media accounts and has described her as a source of joy and inspiration in her life.

Despite her challenges, Nana Ama McBrown is known for her versatility as an actress and her ability to connect with audiences through her performances. She is widely regarded as one of the most popular and influential actresses in Ghana.

Actress and showbiz icon has been making headlines since March when she announced that she has joined Media General’s Onua TV.

Since then, the celebrated screen goddess who cut her teeth as a TV presenter as host of UTV’s United Showbiz set her fans and TV audiences on edge with what new thing she was bringing to her new home.

On Sunday, April 30, McBrown premiered her new show Onua Showtime.
