The Managing Director (MD) of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea has asked Ghanaweb, an online news portal to retract and apologize for a story published about him.
According to the former Communication Director of the NPP, he did not make any statement about the issue being attributed to him.
Ghanaweb reported on Sunday, June 14, a story with the headline ” You don’t match Pius to debate Felix on radio or TV – Nana Akomea slams NPP”. The story suggested that, MD for STC Nana Akomea had expressed displeasure towards his party for pairing Deputy information minister, Pius Enam Hadzide with former deputy information Minister, Felix Ofosu Kwakye on Joy Fm’s Newsfile on a discussion about infrastructure and NDC’s claims in their famous Green Book.
This comes after some Ghanaians, especially NDC supporters took to social media to mock Mr. Hadzide for his inability to adequately debate his points while struggling to answer some questions posed to him by the host of the show.
A social media user bearing the same name as Nana Akomea, in a since deleted post on Facebook, said the NPP should not have paired Pius with Felix. Ghanaweb wrote a story on post assuming it was that of MD for STC Nana Akomea’s.
Few hours after the publication, Nana Akomea took to his Facebook wall, stating that, for the avoidance of doubt, he did not make any such post about the deputy minister of information as stated in the publication by Ghanaweb, he added that, Ghanaweb should withdraw the story and apologise for such error, describing it as “highly unprofessional”.

Meanwhile, Ghanaweb has since published a story, retracting and apologizing to Nana Akomea.
