Aggrieved participants of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) program have voiced their concerns regarding the prolonged delay in receiving their outstanding nine months’ payment.
Despite making multiple attempts to obtain payment from the government, the beneficiaries have faced consistent disappointment as their dues remain unpaid.
The National Convenor of the Aggrieved NABCo Beneficiaries, David Petterson, highlighted the unbearable hardships they have endured. He urgently called upon the government to fulfill its promises and promptly disburse the nine months’ arrears owed, thereby enabling the beneficiaries to regain stability.
In December of the previous year, these beneficiaries issued a one-week ultimatum to the government, demanding the settlement of their outstanding arrears spanning nine months. Unfortunately, their numerous engagements with the government to secure the payment of owed allowances have proven futile.
Naa Techie, the spokesperson for the former NABCo trainees, expressed her dissatisfaction with the delay in receiving their arrears while speaking to the media.
“The indication is that NABCO trainees have been left in limbo. NABCO Trainees have been subjected to incessant public ridicule, and they have also been subjected to severe hardships and are in a state of starvation to death,” she underscored.
