CEO of Rufftown Records, Ricky Nana Agyemang, better known as Bullet has dismissed rumors that his conflict with signee Wendy Shay is a publicity stunt. During an interview on UTV’s United Showbiz on June 8, 2024, Bullet emphasized that the dispute is genuine and not a fabricated attempt to gain attention.
Bullet stressed that publicity stunts are ineffective for promotion. He stated, “It was not a publicity stunt; what would have been the use of it to the label if it was a stunt? You don’t use stunts to promote projects; you use money to promote them.”
He explained that while publicity stunts were once a closely guarded secret in Hollywood, their misuse in Ghana has led to genuine issues being mistaken for stunts. “Stunts used to be an industry secret,” Bullet explained to the show’s host, MzGee. “They were something used in Hollywood to get the public talking, and no one even knew. But now that the secret is out there, Ghanaians, especially, have abused it. Now they just do stunts anyhow, and they know that entertainment pundits will help hype them up.”
