Wife of Veteran Nigerian actor Mr Ibu, Stella Maris, has reportedly had his sons and adopted daughter, Jasmine, arrested over the alleged misappropriation of funds intended for his medical treatment.
Actress Doris Ogala disclosed this on her Instagram page, revealing that the siblings are currently held at Alagbon police station in Lagos.
As per Ogala, Stella Maris has accused Jasmine and her stepbrothers of embezzling N300 million from the account designated to collect donations for Mr Ibu’s treatment.
The motive behind the arrest is said to be Stella Maris’ desire for a new house funded by the contributions made for Mr Ibu’s medical expenses.
Ogala further noted that, following the arrest, a police investigation revealed that the donated sum did not amount to the alleged N300 million.
In her statement, Ogala said, “Jasmine and Ibu’s sons were arrested at Alagbon Police Station. They are detained there. Ibu’s wife alleged that Jasmine moved 300 million out of the account Ibu’s wife allegedly wanted them to buy her a new house from the money contributed so far for Ibu’s treatments. That’s why she arrested Jasmine. But investigation states that the money contributed isn’t even up to 300 million. Nawa oo.”
