Medikal lists all the good things he has done for Fella since they met

Rapper Medikal recently made headlines with a detailed list of the various ways he has supported his ex-wife, Fella Makafui, throughout their relationship.

The pair, who were married in 2020, have had a highly publicized relationship that included both joyous and tumultuous moments.

Medikal and Fella’s Relationship Timeline

Medikal and Fella Makafui got married in a lavish ceremony in March 2020. Their relationship has been closely followed by the public and the media, with many ups and downs. They welcomed their daughter, Island, in August 2020. Despite their seemingly strong bond, the couple announced their separation in March 2024. Despite the split, they agreed to co-parent their daughter, an arrangement that has so far been fraught with tension.

In a recent statement, Medikal recounted the numerous ways he has supported Fella during their time together. He recounted how her previous boyfriends had mistreated her.

  1. Business Ventures:

“The first boyfriend you had who helped you open a shop, when you guys broke up, he came to the shop, smashed up all the bottles, and took some of his drinks away. Your second man, a landguard, he also came to the shop to do the same thing. He took away all the cars he gave you. It was evident. A lot of people saw it online,” Medikal said.

Medikal highlighted his own contributions, saying, “Now me, I came through. My only crime was to say fuck everybody, I like you, I’ve got love for you, I will buy you a car, I will show the world that you are worth everything to me, as a man. I got you a car, customized the plate. The plate alone costs like GHC10,000. I did not mind. I wanted to make you smile. I wanted to show the world that I love you and I won’t make anyone disgrace you. I gave you the documents and papers to the car because I did not want you to feel like, I will do the same thing that your exes did to you. I am not that type of person. I am not that type of man.”

He continued by explaining how he helped her maintain her business. “Now they were moving you out of that shop because your rent was due. Within that same space, I paid your rent, I was in America by then. Mind you, we were not even married yet. I sent money through and paid for the shop for two years. Sorted a lot of things. It hurts me to even be disclosing all these because I am not that type of person. I do not even disclose things I do for strangers, let alone someone who has been my person. I sorted your shop at ARS for you, you had another shop around Mangoes, UPS, I sorted that one too for you.”

2. Financial Support:

Medikal claimed to have provided over GHC 300,000 to support Fella’s waist-trainer and skincare business. He emphasized that he never viewed it as a joint business venture but purely as support for her. He also mentioned transferring money directly to her account for business expenses, demonstrating his commitment to her financial independence.

“Now, you told me about your business. You wanted to do waist-trainer and skincare and whatnot. You told me about it, and I was like cool, I will support. Why not? Because I see you to be my woman, you are my lady so obviously, if I support it does not spoil anything. I put money into that shit. Me, if not for that lady, I would not have heard about Alibaba Express or whatever. That is where you order your things from. You showed me the website, and I was like cool. You made me understand how it works, let me put money into that business and we will make money together. From that time up till now, I never looked at it as our business where I should also be getting some money from.”

“Because I am already working. I am an artist. The money I take a day for a show, I am not sure that business can make that amount of money. But I decided to put money into that so that you can be okay, so that maybe when I do not have money you can also survive on your own or support. Whatever. I put over GHC 300,000 in this shit. Money, not check, cash, transfer to your account so you can order these things so you can make money. And I have never asked you for a cedi. I have not even asked you how much you make from the business or asked how much you charge. Because I am okay. If I play one show, I am fine, I have endorsement deals, I do features, every day I am travelling, I am making money, so I am good, I just want you to be good, as my lady as my woman.”

3. Personal Sacrifices:

Medikal disclosed his reservations about Fella undergoing plastic surgery after childbirth but eventually supported her decision financially out of love and concern for her well-being.

“You told me that, now that you have given birth, promoting the business will be slow and so you want to undergo a surgery. I told you, me I do not like women who do plastic surgery, lipo. Me I like my shit natural. That is what is attractive to me. Let’s keep it that way. It is normal to give birth and put on some weight. You are not the first person to give birth and then maybe lose some sick packs. And even the company you feel like you will use this to sell, you could use other ambassadors or influencers, to do it for you. But, madam said, no, she wants to do it herself. She wants to be the ambassador and influencer of the product, so she wants to do it herself. This was a battle for about 3 to 4 months. She will not speak to me because I said no, I don’t want plastic and lipo surgery. Me, I don’t like that. I do not have any problem with those who do it but for me, I do not like that thing. It is not attractive to me. This is not to ridicule anyone or to defame anyone,” he recounted.

Despite his reservations, Medikal eventually supported her decision. “Because of the love I had for this person and because we had a child at that period, I was like you know what, I will let you do it, how much is it, I am gonna pay for it. I paid for it. The first one she went to do, she did it in Nigeria. I was thinking, what if something happens to her, what if she dies? Because I am not there. What if something happens? Someone who just gave birth, because you want to have a flat tummy, you travel all the way to Nigeria to do a surgery. I got scared. I will be writing you, but no replies.”

Medikal’s revelations have stirred public opinion, with many questioning the authenticity and motives behind his detailed disclosures.

Some see it as an attempt to clear his name and demonstrate his loyalty and support during their marriage, while others view it as a strategic move to gain public sympathy amidst their separation.

This detailed recounting of Medikal’s support for Fella Makafui provides insight into the complexities of their relationship and highlights the sacrifices and investments made by both parties. As the story continues to unfold, it remains a focal point in Ghana’s entertainment news.
