Kevin De Bruyne has expressed his willingness to consider a transfer to the Saudi Pro League (SPL), citing the “incredible” financial benefits of moving to the Gulf region.

With one year remaining on his contract at Manchester City, the midfielder has been linked to a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

According to a source from ESPN, De Bruyne’s agents visited 10 Saudi clubs over three days in May.

The Belgian international has acknowledged that the lucrative offers from the SPL are tempting.

“At my age, you have to be open to everything,” De Bruyne said in an interview with Belgian outlet HLN.

“You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.

“If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that, I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet.

“Then you have to think about what that could mean next. But at the moment, I haven’t had to think about that yet.”

He was restricted to 18 league appearances last season after missing the first five months of the campaign because of a hamstring injury.

Now 32, De Bruyne, who has also been linked with a move to MLS, said it’s time to start thinking about his next move.

“These are conversations that we are increasingly having as a family,” added De Bruyne.
