In the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region, an appalling incident has occurred where an 80-year-old shea butter seller was sexually assaulted in a bush by a notorious individual.
As reported by Yaw Boagyan of Kasapa News, the victim, whose identity is being protected, was traveling from Etsii Sonkwa to Ofabil to collect payments from individuals who owed her for purchasing her shea butter. On her journey, she encountered the criminal, Kobina Nyame, who brandished a knife and threatened her with violence if she didn’t comply with his demand for sexual intercourse.

Struggling to return home, the victim was aided by a motorcyclist whom she confided in about the incident. This individual later informed the local Assembly member.
The case was then brought to the attention of the Chiefs and elders of Etsii Sonkwa. Incensed by the despicable nature of the crime, community members apprehended the perpetrator, and after his confession, the police were alerted.
