Mahama showed me love despite my #DumsorMustStop demo against him – DKB narrates

Ghanaian comedian DKB recently shared a touching experience from 2015, revealing how he nearly knelt in apology to former President John Mahama.

This revelation came after DKB had led a demonstration against Mahama during the #DumsorMustStop protests.

Despite the previous tensions, Mahama extended a warm welcome to DKB just four months later, when the comedian performed for him and the Ethiopian Prime Minister.

In a Twitter post on June 25, 2024, DKB highlighted Mahama’s remarkable non-discriminatory attitude.

He expressed his deep regret and almost apologized to Mahama during a photo opportunity where Mahama showed him genuine affection.

“Mahama doesn’t discriminate! In 2015, I did a dumsor demo against him. Four months later, I performed for him and the Ethiopian Prime Minister. During the photo ops, he embraced me and showed me love.”

“The regret filled my heart at that moment. I nearly knelt down to apologize to him,” he posted.

DKB’s reflection was prompted by comments from fellow entertainer Agya Koo, who, despite his allegiance to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has spoken highly of Mahama.

In a trending social media video, Agya Koo, a Kumawood actor, cut short his performance at a funeral after facing heckling from a supporter of Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Agya Koo disclosed that he has had personal interactions with Mahama, including visits to his home.

As Ghana approaches its December 7, 2024 general elections, Mahama is set to face off against Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, New Force Movement leader Nana Kwame Bediako, and Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen.
