Management team behind popular Kumawood actor LilWin, Weezy Empire, has issued an apology for their previous response to allegations of neglecting victims of his recent accident.
In their initial communication, the management had dismissed the claims of neglect as “unwarranted” and “distasteful.”
This response, shared on Lil Win’s Instagram account on May 28, faced criticism from Ghanaians who found it insensitive towards the affected family and chastised the actor for his stance.
After reflecting on the public feedback, both Lil Win and his management team have apologized for their earlier statement.
Their press release on May 29 clarified that their intention was not to cause further distress to the family of the deceased three-year-old boy.
As a gesture of respect and mourning, Lil Win has decided to postpone the premiere of his movie in Sunyani, originally scheduled for June 1.
The management expressed regret for any unintended distress caused by their previous communication and announced that the premiere would be rescheduled, with existing tickets remaining valid for the new date to be communicated later.
