Ghanaian comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, popularly known as DKB, revealed that he initially pledged not to support his fellow comedian Funny Face.
However, a change of heart ensued after Funny Face was involved in an accident.
DKB justified his previous stance by highlighting Funny Face’s past actions, which had alienated him from other comedians in the country, resulting in their reluctance to extend support to him. Consequently, DKB refrained from publicly addressing issues involving Funny Face.
However, DKB’s perspective shifted following Funny Face’s recent accident. In an Instagram live session monitored by GhanaWeb, DKB urged his fellow comedians to forgive Funny Face and stand by him during such difficult times.
“I have never been a fan of Funny Face because of his shenanigans. You don’t see me talking about him publicly because of what he did to us [comedians] in the past. So for me, it will take more than just the eye for him to convince me.
“But with what happened to him tonight [car accident], I am pleading with all of us to have sympathy on him. I am calling on the comedians such as Kalybos, Bismark The Joke and the rest to come on board and help him,” he said.
Funny Face was involved in a severe accident in Kasoa, located in the Central Region, where he reportedly collided with five individuals at Kakraba Junction.
An eyewitness indicated that one of the victims might have suffered fatal injuries. The victims included a mother with her two children and two motorcyclists struck after the initial impact.
The incident, captured on March 24, 2024, per footage from the scene, prompted Accra-based UTV to share a video showing Funny Face being escorted away while bystanders surrounded the vehicle he was purportedly driving.
In recent years, Funny Face has been entangled in a tumultuous relationship issue with his baby mama, leading to a court referral for psychological evaluation.
He has also openly discussed his struggles with depression and, in recent social media posts, accused his baby mama of plotting to permanently separate him from their three children.
