Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has made mockery of some New Patriotic Parliamentary aspirants ahead of the party’s primaries.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has granted approval to 105 polling centers for its upcoming Parliamentary Primaries scheduled for January 27, 2024.

Out of around 400 individuals who obtained forms to participate in the NPP Parliamentary race, 376 underwent the vetting process.

Seventeen aspirants have been disqualified, 326 candidates qualified for the parliamentary primaries, three aspirants withdrew from the race, 29 individuals went unopposed, and one aspirant’s application is currently under court review.

The election takes place tomorrow, and ahead of this, Mr Pratt Jnr has sighted some hilarious circumstances that some aspirants have found themselves.

In an interview on Peace FM, Mr Pratt Jnr mocked aspirants who have sought the assistance of numerous pastors and those who have used the backdoor to win the votes of electorates.

“The primaries has become scary. There are those who are now suffering from running stools. Others are super scared,” he said.

Mr Pratt Junior singled an aspirant who had over 10 pastors laying hands on him for victory.

“If you see the newspapers, one of the aspirants has over 10 pastors laying hands on him for victory. This has become serious. A pastor is not enough, he has to go for more than 10. It is not easy,” he noted.

According to Mr Pratt, these actions will not be necessary if one diligently worked to ensure constituents are taken care of.

“But if you duly served, you do not need 10 pastors to lay hands on you to be victorious. Your work will tell but if you did not go and work, you can bring 2000 pastors, and still lose.

“It has become a practice in Ghana that whenever there is an election, aspirants can even fly to Israel for prayers. So if you go to Israel, we will just vote for you because we are stupid?” he lamented.
