Okuapehene Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III has publicly disavowed Kwesi Addo‘s claim to the title of Amamprobihene, following Kwesi Addo’s purported self-appointment to the position for over two years.
In a video circulated online, Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III recounted numerous attempts, including delegations and summons, to address the situation with Kwesi Addo, all of which were allegedly disregarded by him.
The footage from the Okuapehene palace depicted Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III visibly upset as he addressed a gathered audience, firmly asserting his authority over the Amamprobi jurisdiction.
During the 5th Awukudae observation, Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III declared,
“So, why is someone presuming to be the Amamprobihene or whatever title he claims? When I ascended to this throne, there was no such individual holding the title of Amamprobihene or even an Odikro from that area.”
“Earlier, when the linguist was speaking, he mentioned some issues with regard to Amamprobi. Anything that has to do with Amamprobi is my business. Our ancestors established that place. My blood runs through that town as well. Everyone gathered here, including visitors, and even those fighting us, know the history behind Amamprobi.
“So, why is someone parading himself as the Amamprobihene or whatever he calls himself? When I ascended this throne, there was nothing like an Amamprobihene or even an Odikro from from that place.”
“I have been reliably informed that he has been felling trees (deforestation), engaging in all sorts of nuisance. If he truly works with me, he would have honoured my summons.
“But as the Okuapehene, I have the absolute powers over that land. Therefore, I won’t allow that so-called Amamprobihene to disrespect me,” the Okuapehene stated.
