Ghanaian attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus, who has been in impressive form for West Ham United in the English Premier League, has been ruled out of Ghana’s upcoming international friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda.
The exclusion is due to a shoulder injury he sustained during a recent Premier League game against Aston Villa.
Kudus, 23, joins a list of players sidelined due to injuries, including Nathaniel Adjei, Thomas Partey, and Elisha Owusu.
Despite playing the full duration of the game, Kudus underwent a medical examination following the match, revealing discomfort in his shoulder that necessitated his absence from the friendlies.
Having scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 34 appearances for West Ham United this season, Kudus remains one of Ghana’s standout performers in European football.
He has represented the Ghana national team 32 times, scoring eleven goals since his debut in 2019.
The Black Stars, under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Otto Addo and his assistants Joseph Laumann and John Paintsil, will face Nigeria on March 22 and Uganda on March 26 at the Stade Grade Marrakech in Morocco.
