King Promise features Young Jonn to remix Terminator

The year 2023 has proven to be a successful one for Afrobeats artist King Promise, as he emerged victorious at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), receiving two prestigious awards.

And while still basking in the glory that comes with it, the reigning VGMA Album of the Year winner is getting huge applause for his latest, banger, Terminator.

But just as music followers will relish the moments served by the single, Terminator, King Promise is out with a remix of the song featuring Nigerian singer and producer, Young Jonn.

Since its release in May, Terminator has recorded 20 million streams with impressive positions on music charts.

It has recorded a hat-trick of Top 5 Shazam in Ghana. Shazam is an application that can identify music, movies, advertising, and television shows, based on a short sample played and using the microphone on the device.

It is expected that the remix which was released on Thursday, July, 6, 2023, will boost the song and give it a huge presence beyond Ghana.

According to King Promise, real name, Gregory Bortey Newman, Terminator is a story of his life.

“This song is the story of my life, it talks about how I’ve survived, and speaks on how I’ve thrived, this song is special to me,” he noted in a statement.

Last year, King Promise shot up his prominence when he dropped his 5 Star album under the management of 5K Records. The project earned him Album of the Year at this year’s Ghana Music Awards in May.

The latest album comes after his debut, As Promised dropped in 2019 which features artistes including Wizkid and Raye.

Since the release of 5 Star, it has garnered over 36M streams across Spotify and Apple Music alone and seen King Promise embark on a tour in the US with some incredible guest appearances by Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa.

King Promise who is known for songs such as CCTV, Choplife, Ginger, Tokyo and Commando told Graphic Showbiz apart from his fans, he has a higher calling to be consistent with his music.
