At the just ended 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards(TGMA) , Afrobeats artist Gregory Bortey Newman, known as King Promise, secured the Popular Song of the Year award for his global hit ‘Terminator’.
His victory came among 13 nominated songs, triumphing over artists like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, KiDi, and Kuami Eugene.
The event, hosted at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on June 1, 2024, celebrated achievements in music over the past year.
The Ghana Music Award Academy Board, comprised of industry professionals from various music sectors, unveiled nominees in categories such as Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist back in March 2024. King Promise’s multiple wins positioned him as a top contender for the coveted Artiste of the Year award.
