Ghanaian musician King Paluta clinched the “Best New Artist” accolade at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards [TGMA], held at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Center.
This marked his second triumph of the evening.
The event also showcased remarkable performances, including Stonebwoy‘s triumphant moment as the ‘Artist of the Year’ for 2024.
Earlier in March 2024, the Ghana Music Award Academy Board unveiled the nominees for the 25th TGMA, encompassing categories like Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.
This Board, comprising industry experts spanning recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers, and engineers, ensures a comprehensive and unbiased adjudication process.
Notable nominees for the esteemed “Artiste of the Year” included Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy.
Meanwhile, the competitive Best New Artist category boasted talents such as Banzy Banero, DSL, King Paluta, Maya Blu, Olive the Boy, and Oseikrom Sikani.
In the previous year, Black Sherif emerged as Artiste of the Year alongside three additional wins.
Camidoh secured Afrobeats Song of the Year and Best Collaboration, King Promise claimed Album of the Year with “5 Star,” Sarkodie was honored as Hiplife Artiste of the Year, and Piesie Esther triumphed with wins for both Gospel Song of the Year and Gospel Artiste of the Year.
