A fire outbreak around the Datus Complex School, near the Kasoa New Market, has destroyed over twenty containers.
The fire, according to officers of the Ghana National Fire Service, began around 1 pm on a Saturday, January 20, engulfing numerous containers in the vicinity. Efforts by the fire department could not easily extinguish the blaze due to its intensity.

Despite the severity of the fire, other containers were protected from being engulfed.
Operations Officer at the Budumburam Fire Station, ADO 1 Charles Naam-Were, mentioned that the cause of the fire is not immediately known, and investigations have been initiated to determine its origin.

Shop owners who lost their properties in the fire expressed shock at the incident while counting their losses.
Additionally, some residents in the area have voiced suspicions that the fire might have been caused by human error.
