Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, speaking at the Youth Connect event in the Ashanti Region, highlighted his unmatched work ethic among past Vice Presidents in the nation’s fourth republic.

He asserted, “The reason why I want to become President is that I’ve worked so hard as a Vice President. My work speaks for itself. If you compare the various Vice Presidents under the Fourth Republic, you can tell that my work rate stands out.

“If you ask John Mahama to point out even one policy initiative he spearheaded as Vice President he can’t point out. I have 33 policies I’ve spearheaded. So the score is 33-0. So please promote me to become president because I’ve passed as Vice President,” he said to a charged crowd in the Ashanti Region.

Comparatively, my track record speaks volumes. Among the Vice Presidents of the Fourth Republic, my commitment stands out prominently.”

Drawing a sharp contrast, he challenged his predecessor, stating, “While my initiatives tally up to 33, John Mahama can’t pinpoint even one policy he championed as Vice President. It’s a clear score of 33-0.”

Bawumia underscored the significance of accountability, noting his eight-year window for seeking the people’s mandate versus Mahama’s four years. He stressed the importance of continuous accountability, signaling his readiness to remain answerable to Ghanaians even beyond his current term, contrasting this with what he perceives as a “honeymoon” request from his opponent.
