Ghanaian musician King Promise has responded to public suggestions that he should distance himself from socialite Efia Odo.
He explained that their friendship dates back to before he became famous and has only grown stronger over the years.
The ‘Terminator’ hitmaker expressed his appreciation for Efia Odo’s consistent support throughout his music career, arguing that it would be irrational to end their relationship based on others’ opinions. He emphasized that just because some people disapprove of her personality, it doesn’t justify severing ties.
In an interview with YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon, King Promise addressed rumors of a romantic relationship with Efia Odo. He noted that, despite asking friends why they don’t like her, he hasn’t received clear answers. He suggested it might be due to her character, which he personally values for its uniqueness.
King Promise revealed that he has known Efia Odo for about eight years, long before his fame, and she has been a steadfast supporter. He questioned the logic of abandoning a loyal friend simply because others have negative opinions about her, insisting that it doesn’t make sense.
These comments come in the wake of increased online pressure for King Promise to distance himself from Efia Odo, especially after he lost the Artiste of the Year award to Stonebwoy at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
