Sources close to Manchester United have revealed that the club has compiled a list of striker targets, which includes Ivan Toney, Jonathan David, and Joshua Zirkzee, as reported by ESPN’s Rob Dawson.
The pursuit of a striker comes in the wake of Anthony Martial’s departure on a free transfer.
Despite heavy scouting of Benjamin Sesko, the Slovenian international has opted to extend his contract with RB Leipzig.
Currently, Rasmus Højlund stands as the sole recognised striker in United’s squad.
While the 21-year-old impressed with 16 goals in his debut season at Old Trafford, the club is keen on providing him with more competition upfront.
Zirkzee, who enjoyed a productive season with Bologna, netting 12 goals in 37 appearances, is among the targets.
The 23-year-old, previously with Bayern Munich, possesses a £34 million release clause in his contract.
Meanwhile, Brentford is expected to demand a fee exceeding £50 million for Toney, who is part of England’s squad at Euro 2024.
On the other hand, 24-year-old Canadian international David showcased his scoring prowess with 26 goals for Lille last season, including 19 in Ligue 1.
