Ghanaian gospel artist Brother Sammy has shared his perspective on Christians labeling activities like betting, eating pork, and getting piercings as sinful.
He expressed that he does not view these activities as immoral and finds it perplexing why Christians often categorize enjoyable aspects of life as sinful.
He called for an end to using Christianity as a tool to intimidate others while affirming his position on these matters.
During an appearance on United Showbiz on UTV, Brother Sammy revealed that he participates in betting regularly, seeing it as a way to increase his wealth.
He noted that many people pray for financial breakthroughs but frequently dismiss betting as a viable option for quick income.
The gospel artist also addressed what he sees as hypocrisy among pastors who permit their children to take part in American lotteries while discouraging others from similar activities.
Although he has never played the lottery, Brother Sammy stated that he would not preach against it. He pointed out that he knows someone who has helped build churches using money earned from betting.
Additionally, he criticized the way individuals with tattoos and piercings are treated in churches, highlighting societal judgments they face.
“Even when boys with tattoos and piercings enter churches, they look at them with judgmental eyes, it’s not fair. They judge Rastafarians but allow women to wear weaves and synthetic hair. We need to be truthful to each other”.
Brother Sammy emphasized that he does not, and will never, adhere to the moral standards that constrain society and limit their freedom of choice.
