Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has made it clear that he has moved beyond industry rivalries and will not engage in any disputes with other musicians.
In an interview on Asaase FM on June 12, 2024, the ‘Therapy’ hitmaker emphasized his commitment to positivity, influenced by his marriage, and distanced himself from any conflicts.
“I’m not in any rivalry with anybody… I just have to state that. Because this is a good opportunity to let the world know I’m not in a rivalry situation. I’m a married man,” Stonebwoy declared.
Recently crowned as the TGMA Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy expressed satisfaction with his life and career, saying, “I’m solid. I’m not fighting anyone. We can all see.”
Reflecting on past industry conflicts, particularly with fellow dancehall star Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy explained that genuine rivalry requires ongoing exchanges, which he finds unproductive and unnecessary. “A beef is when you get replies. A rivalry is when it’s back and forth. So it’s not worth it. It’s not qualified to be called a rivalry,” he noted.
Despite several reconciliation attempts, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s relationship has remained rocky. Recently, the two were in the spotlight after Shatta Wale’s concert, scheduled for June 8, 2024, at the TF Hostel at the University of Ghana, was cancelled. Shatta Wale’s camp accused Stonebwoy of influencing the cancellation to avoid clashing with his own concert at the university on the same day.
However, the University of Ghana clarified that Shatta Wale’s concert was cancelled due to procedural issues and not because of any interference from Stonebwoy.
