Efia Odo, born Andrea Owusu, has shared that she has returned to her Christian faith.
She acknowledged being brought up in a Christian home, where she “worshipped Jesus all my life.”
However, she explained that at a certain point, she wanted to “find God on my own,” so she “drifted away from the church.”
The social media star admitted that this period, despite appearing fine publicly, was challenging as she “felt empty” after she “stopped worshipping Christ.”
She boldly announced her return, declaring, ” “Now I’m back in Christ and no one can tell me otherwise.”.”
“If you think I am brainwashed then let me be, I don’t need to be saved,” the 31-year-old doubled down.
The TV personality and rapper was replying to a user who expressed surprise at her new stance, mentioning they believed she shared their view that Christianity was a tool of colonial brainwashing, thus identifying as an atheist.
In response to another user who shared a picture of her wearing a provocative black sheer dress — similar to what she wore at Kwesi Arthur’s 2022 Son of Jacob album launch — Efia Odo posted a photo of herself in a modest green opaque dress, often worn by devout women for Sunday church service. She initially shared this picture on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, with the caption, “God’s favorite.”
On June 23, Efia passionately criticized the ongoing Kiki Challenge, where women showcase their piety in one moment and their sexual allure in another, inspired by lyrics from a Leftizzle & Fuse ODG song that praises a dual persona: “Oh Kiki, you’re a good girl, you go [to] church weekly but in the bed you’re freaky…”
Labeling this challenge “disgusting,” Efia Odo lamented the blatant disregard for godly values and respect, driven by a desire for social media attention.
