Ghanaian preacher Prophet Kofi Oduro has announced plans to assess and present the accomplishments of both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the past sixteen years.
His goal is to provide voters with a clearer picture of each party’s performance in preparation for the December 7 general elections.
Prophet Oduro’s announcement comes in response to comments by NPP running mate Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who claimed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration has outperformed every previous Ghanaian president, including Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Oduro criticized such comparisons, suggesting that they are inappropriate and urged both parties to measure their achievements against each other instead.
He plans to present his comparative analysis in November, outlining the achievements of the NDC and NPP administrations separately.
According to Oduro, this will help voters make well-informed decisions. He emphasized the importance of evaluating the parties’ records and making choices based on their contributions to Ghana’s progress.
In his video statement, Prophet Oduro also cautioned his congregation to vote with the nation’s best interests in mind, rather than being swayed by superficial comparisons.
“You compare yourself to Nkrumah? Comparison? Never do that comparison. Tell the people of Ghana what you have done, and if they want, they will vote for you.
“However, I will do this nation good. In November, I will do a series, and I am not talking about persons, 8 years of NDC, and 8 years of NPP. I will compare their works on this screen in this church, and when we finish, you will make the decision,” Prophet Oduro said in a viral video shared on TikTok.
