Ghanaian artist and new Rufftown records member Baba Tunde has a clear stance on the prestigious Ghana Music Awards, now backed by Telecel Ghana.
He mentioned that he would only grace the event “when I’m receiving an award.”
“I haven’t attended before, and I don’t plan to just be an observer. My first visit should coincide with receiving an award,” he expressed, indicating his absence from this year’s ceremony.
Regarding the highly coveted Artiste of the Year accolade, Baba Tunde refrained from picking a favorite, stating confidently that “anyone can win, and I’ll be genuinely happy for the recipient.”
“All the nominees are dedicated, and their triumph would be a tribute to Ghana,” he added during his conversation with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, accompanied by his label CEO, Ricky Nana Agyemang of Rufftown Records.
Furthermore, Baba Tunde disclosed his interest in collaborations with artists like Gyakie and Zlatan for upcoming projects.
“I’m keen on all of them, including Davido and more,” he mentioned.
Meanwhile, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) 2024, organized by Charterhouse, is set to unfold at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), Accra, on Saturday, June 1.
Public anticipation surrounds artists like King Promise and Stonebwoy as potential winners of the Artiste of the Year title, competing against established figures like Black Sherif, two-time legend Sarkodie, 2020 champion Kuami Eugene, and newcomer Nacee.
