John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced plans to introduce significant reforms if elected in the upcoming December 7, 2024, presidential elections.
He emphasized the establishment of a National Women’s Bank to support one million women-owned businesses and the implementation of a 24-hour economy initiative aimed at generating employment opportunities across Ghana.
In his statement on the X platform, Mahama outlined a vision for economic revitalization, promising to address the country’s economic challenges by creating sustainable and well-paying jobs for youth.
He also pledged to investigate and prosecute corrupt officials from the current administration, abolish the COVID and E-levies, eliminate ex-gratia payments, and streamline the government to a maximum of sixty ministers.
Mahama called for a vote to “RESET” Ghana, highlighting the need for change to combat economic hardship and restore integrity to the presidency.
He criticized the incumbent NPP government for its alleged mismanagement and vowed to lead a government characterized by humility, vision, and accountability.
With these proposals, Mahama seeks to garner support for his candidacy alongside running mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, promising a new era of governance focused on national development and social justice.
