The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has praised Mr. Freddie Blay for honouring his promise of buying 275 buses for the party.

Mr. Freddie Blay, who is currently aspiring to be the National Chairman of the NPP, put before the party, his plan to purchases buses as a means of ceating self-sustaining constituencies.

Close to half of the buses have arrived in the country and it is on this note that Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi, has urged delegates to vote massively for Mr. Blay in their upcoming election.

The buses will be given to STC to add to its operational fleet as a leader in long-distance transportation. A bank account is expected to be opened in the name of each constituency so that as the STC works with the buses it pays some monies to the constituencies to be used for running party activities

And it is on this note that Chairman Wontumi explains that “it can only take a courageous leader like Mr. Blay to introduce such business model to the party.. He promised us and he has delivered. I personally promised to build the NPP a party office in the Ashanti region and I am fulfilling it. Such is the trait of every good leader and Blay is one person all delegates in the party can trust and vote for”.

However, Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, is investigating the acting National Chairman of the NPP on how he funded the purchase of the buses.

But spokesperson for Mr. Blay, Richard Nyamah, has responded by stating that his boss facilitated the purchase of the minibuses by making a down payment of 3 million dollars, which constitutes 30% of the total cost of 11.4 million dollars for the 275 cars.

Richard Nyamah also explained that the buses are not for free, and that they are to help the constituencies to manage their activities by themselves, and generate revenue by using them for commercial purposes, to pay for them over a two-year period.
