I want my children to marry within the royal family – Otumfuo’s daughter

Daughter of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Dr. Caryn Agyemang Prempeh has expressed her desire for her children to marry within the royal family.

She believes that such unions foster mutual understanding and cultural familiarity, enhancing marital harmony.

Speaking at Joy FM, Dr. Agyemang Prempeh shared her personal experiences and highlighted the benefits of marrying someone who understands and respects royal traditions.

“I was a bit resistant, but then I’ve grown to believe that it makes it easier because, if you marry someone who understands the culture or is familiar with Asanteman and the rules, they appreciate you better. They know where you’re coming from, and so they respect you better. The further you move away from it, the more difficult it is.

“It’s for your own good because that way, the person appreciates where you’re coming from better. In my case, I am not in the royal league. But from my experience, I would want my kids to conform to it; it will make it easier,” she said.
