Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has brushed aside rumours suggesting that he might depart from the club this summer.
Fernández, aged 23, made the move to Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 in a €121 million transfer deal shortly after securing victory in the 2022 World Cup with Argentina.
He netted his seventh goal of the season during Chelsea’s 3-1 league victory against Crystal Palace on Monday.
However, with Chelsea currently occupying the 10th position in the Premier League and facing the likelihood of missing out on the Champions League next season, speculation has emerged that the Argentine midfielder could consider leaving the club in June.
“I don’t know where those rumours came from. Social networks, I think. I totally deny it. I don’t want to leave Chelsea, I’m very happy here,” Fernández told ESPN. “Since the first day they [Chelsea] have treated me wonderfully, I am very grateful.
“Regardless of what happens in football, I am grateful and I am happy at Chelsea. I will continue [here] as long as they want.”
