Ghanaian music sensation Wendy Shay has officially parted ways with RuffTown Records after a seven-year collaboration. The split, which has been the subject of much speculation and online shade-throwing, was confirmed by the label’s CEO, Bullet, in a candid interview on UTV’s United Showbiz hosted by MzGee.

Bullet, the mastermind behind RuffTown Records, revealed that the decision stemmed from a recent misunderstanding between him and Wendy Shay. According to Bullet, Wendy’s contract with RuffTown had expired, and an American record label approached them with an offer to sign the artist. Despite considering the proposal, Bullet remained unconvinced of its benefits and ultimately advised against Wendy signing the deal.

Tensions escalated when Wendy Shay and Bullet could not see eye-to-eye on the matter, leading to a heated argument. In a moment of anger, Bullet told Wendy she was free to leave the label if she was unhappy. “Most of the time when artistes and their labels fall out, we blame the artiste. However, in our case, I blame myself. I got angry at a point and told her if she wanted to go she could go,” Bullet admitted during the show.

The fallout has been publicly visible, with Wendy Shay taking to social media to throw shades at her former label and manager. This sparked rumors that the drama was merely a publicity stunt to promote a new song. However, Bullet’s revelations indicate that the split is genuine and stemmed from real disagreements.

Bullet expressed his pride in Wendy Shay’s accomplishments despite their fallout, acknowledging that she had even released a diss track directed at him. “I have seen that she has done a diss song for me as a result. But I am proud of her accomplishment since we fell out,” he said.

Wendy Shay, known for hits like “Uber Driver” and “Bedroom Commando,” has yet to make an official statement regarding her future plans. However, her departure from RuffTown marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in her career. Fans and industry watchers alike are keen to see where Wendy Shay’s journey will take her next.
