Former Health Minister, Dr. Richard Anane recently spoke out against Ashanti Regional Chairman Wontumi‘s behavior within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He indicated that during a meeting in the presence of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, he addressed Chairman Wontumi directly, expressing concerns about his actions damaging the party’s reputation.
Dr. Anane emphasized that as the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Wontumi’s demeanor and actions should reflect the role’s responsibility as a unifying force within the party.
Instead, Dr. Anane believes Wontumi’s conduct has been detrimental, causing more harm than good.
“I chastised Chairman Wontumi in the presence of former President Kufuor. I told him directly in his presence that he is destroying the party. He should behave accordingly to his role as a chairman rather than causing more damage,” Dr. Richard Anane stated, highlighting the need for constructive leadership within the NPP.
