Rapper Medikal recently took the stage at O2 Indigo in London, performing alongside his ex-girlfriend Sister Derby, much to the surprise of the sold-out crowd on Friday, May 3, 2024.
The unexpected reunion sparked discussions online, with some speculating that it might have been a move to provoke his ex-wife Fella Makafui.
However, in a recent interview on UTV, Medikal clarified that the performance was not intended as a jab at his ex-wife.
He explained that he and Sister Derby have a collaboration, and he invited her to perform to give the audience a taste of what they see in his music videos and on social media.
“She is someone I have a song with. I wanted the people to have a feel of what they watch on my Snapchat and music videos. Someone may have listened to ‘Too Risky,’ so we had to perform so that they will have a feel. I wasn’t trying to prove any point. I just wanted my fans to enjoy themselves,” Medikal stated.
Medikal, whose real name is Samuel Frimpong Adu, joins the ranks of Ghanaian artists like Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Amakye Dede, Kuami Eugene, and KiDi who have organised successful shows at the prestigious O2 Indigo.
