Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has challenged Stonebwoy to a showdown at the Accra Sports Stadium to settle who truly reigns supreme in the dancehall genre.
Shatta Wale issued this challenge via social media, adding that if Stonebwoy declines, he should be considered a reggae artiste instead of a dancehall one.
This challenge comes after a week of taunts from Shatta Wale, sparked by Stonebwoy’s recent demands for recognition in discussions about the pioneers of hiplife in Ghana.
In his post, Shatta Wale stated, “I formally challenge @stonebwoy and his fans to meet me at the Accra Sports Stadium to resolve the ‘Dancehall King’ title dispute. If they decline, Stonebwoy should stop identifying as a dancehall artiste and stick to reggae. This will be a structured and healthy competition, and interested sponsors can reach out to our management teams.”
This isn’t the first time the two artists have faced off to assert their dominance in Ghana’s dancehall scene.
